United Kingdom accession to the European Communities as seen by cartoonists

United Kingdom accession to the European Communities as seen by cartoonists This is an Album on the United Kingdom's accession to the European Communities as seen by various international cartoonists. It consists of a non-exhaustive selection of cartoons originally published in foreign newspapers (Le Figaro, Die Welt, Het Parool, The Observer, The Guardian ...). In an interesting and humorous way, they illustrate the numerous difficulties of the British accession to the European Communities from the 1950s up to the 1970s. A large part is also dedicated to the French attitude towards the UK application and especially to President Charles de Gaulle's constant opposition to the British joining the EC.
