Interview with Michel Camdessus, Director of the Treasury in France from 1982 to 1984, Governor of the Banque de France from 1984 to 1987 and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 1987 to 2000, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 8 October 2015 in Paris. The interview was conducted by Elena Danescu, a Researcher at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: the French Treasury and the European integration process, the Banque de France and Economic and Monetary Union, the IMF’s policy following the fall of the Berlin Wall and in light of the global financial crises, and the development of the international monetary system.
