The judges of the European Union Civil Service Tribunal are appointed by the Council acting unanimously, after consulting a committee comprising seven persons chosen from among former members of the Court of Justice and the Court of First Instance and lawyers of recognised competence. The Council Decision of 18 January 2005 lays down the operating rules of this committee.
