On 25 January 1957, in connection with the drawing up of the Treaties establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) and Euratom in Val Duchesse, the Italian daily newspaper Il nuovo Corriere della Sera considers the future and challenges of agriculture for the Six.

On 20 September 1958, following its Congress held in Vienna, the European Confederation of Agriculture (ECA) publishes a manifesto in which it sets out the principles for a modern, competitive and prosperous agriculture industry in Europe.

On 23 February 1961, Emile Schaus, Luxembourg Agriculture Minister, delivers a speech to the Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies in which he describes the objectives of the national agricultural policy and sets out the arrangements for its integration into the European common market.

In 1968, the Commission of the European Communities publishes a report on the national agricultural policies of the six Member States of the European Economic Community (EEC).
