On 11 November 1980, in an interview granted to journalist Roger Massip, Bernard Clappier, former Head of the Private Office of French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman, describes how the Schuman Plan was disclosed to Federal Chancellor Konrad Adenauer on the eve of the declaration of 9 May 1950.

On 16 June 1950, Paul Leroy-Beaulieu, Director-General of Economic and Financial Affairs at the High Commission of the French Republic in Germany, drafts a secret note on the meeting that he had two days earlier with Konrad Adenauer, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), concerning the organisation of the negotiations between the Six on the Schuman Plan and how these negotiations should take place.

On 11 November 1950, Paul Leroy-Beaulieu, Head of the General Directorate of Economic and Financial Affairs at the French High Commission in Germany, drafts a short note on the attitude that the British might adopt were the International Authority for the Ruhr (IAR) to cease to exist following the establishment of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).

On 10 August 1952, the High Authority of the ECSC begins its work in Luxembourg. The Information and Press Office of the Luxembourg Government gives an account of the day's events. This account includes a speech given by Jean Monnet at the first session of the High Authority, as well as speeches given by Émile Hamilius, Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, by Joseph Bech, Luxembourg Foreign Minister, and another by Jean Monnet at the welcoming ceremony organised by the Luxembourg authorities.

In this note from the Intergovernmental Conference on the Common Market and Euratom, the Heads of Delegation of the Six rehearse the political and economic arguments for the association of the overseas countries and territories (OCT) with the European Economic Community.

Am 30. On 30 October 1949, Dean Acheson, US Secretary of State, sends a letter to Robert Schuman, French Foreign Minister, in which he refers to the settlement of the German question and proposes that France take the initiative to establish the main lines of a common policy for the Western Allies with the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG), so that the FRG can be integrated into Western Europe as soon as possible.

On 27 May 1964, the Euratom Commission officially announces the conclusion of an agreement with the United States for the establishment of a new cooperation programme which will focus on the development of rapid reactors for energy purposes.
