On 9 May 1960, as part of the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, Albert Wehrer, Luxembourg Member of the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), gives an address in which he focuses in particular on the coal crisis affecting Europe.

In 1959, Nieuw Europa, the periodical of the Dutch European Movement, leads with the effects of the coal crisis in Belgium and refers to the High Authority’s action plan for the industry.

In July 1952, with a view to the future relations between the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and the United Kingdom, the British Foreign Secretary drafts a memorandum advocating the establishment of a British delegation to the ECSC High Authority.

On 30 November 1954, Jean Monnet, President of the High Authority, gives an initial assessment of the activities of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) to the Common Assembly meeting in extraordinary session.

On 18 February 1953, a note from Luxembourg diplomatic circles provides details of the debates in the interim working group appointed by the Organisation for European Economic Cooperation (OEEC) on the agricultural and food products that may be affected by a future European agricultural community. The note also outlines the position of the countries that took part in the meeting in March 1952 in Paris on whether or not a supranational High Authority should be set up to oversee the green pool.

In 1962, in the Bulletin de la Communauté économique européenne, Jean Monnet, former President of the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), urges Member States to create a united, democratic and social Europe.
