Text Le 10 septembre 1947, Sir Terence Allen Shone, haut-commissaire du Royaume-Uni en Inde, adresse à Christopher Addison, secrétaire d'État aux Relations du Commonwealth, un télégramme dans lequel il rend compte de l'évolution de la situation en Inde et au Pakistan après la partition de l'Empire des Indes britanniques. Il se réfère notamment à quelques articles de presse et revient sur les troubles communautaires entre hindous, musulmans et sikhs ainsi que sur le problème des réfugiés et des déplacements de populations.
