Rapport militaire sur les émeutes à Calcutta (Calcutta, 24 août 1946)

Dans un rapport militaire du 24 août 1946, le quartier général de l'Eastern Command expose la situation des émeutes à Calcutta. En effet, après la journée d'action du 16 août 1946, lancée par la Ligue musulmane afin d'imposer la partition de l'Inde et la création d'un État musulman indépendant, le Pakistan, des violents heurts entre hindous et musulmans s'ensuivent, faisant plusieurs milliers de morts à Calcutta.
