Mémorandum de Terence Allen Shone sur les conséquences économiques causées par les troubles au Pendjab (31 octobre 1947)
Text Le 31 octobre 1947, Terence Allen Shone, haut-commissaire du Royaume-Uni en Inde, transmet à Philip John Noel-Baker, secrétaire d'État aux Relations du Commonwealth, un mémorandum sur les conséquences économiques qui ont été engendrées par les troubles au Pendjab oriental après la partition des Indes. D'après la note, la partition qui a provoqué d'importants déplacements de populations et de massacres entre les différentes communautés a également causé de graves problèmes pour l’agriculture, l’industrie et l’économie en général.
