On 6 October 1982, the Secretary-General of Western European Union (WEU) circulates a draft reply by the WEU Council to Assembly Recommendation 382 on disarmament. The text includes the original German proposal and a series of British amendments, most of which are included in the final reply to the Recommendation (C (82) 117). The British delegation’s amendments particularly concern the section on the negotiations on mutual and balanced force reductions (MBFR) in Europe, as well as the section on organising a conference on disarmament in Europe.
