Judgment of the Court of Justice, Dassonville, Case 8/74 (11 July 1974)
Texte Preliminary ruling of the Court as regards the free movement of goods and competition (interpretation of Articles 30 to 33, 36 and 85 of the EEC Treaty, now Articles 28, 30 and 81 of the EC Treaty). The Court examines, in particular, the notion of a 'measure having an effect equivalent' to a quantitative restriction on imports.
