Texte On 18 September 1980, the Secretary-General of Western European Union (WEU) circulates the draft reply by the British delegation to points 6 and 7 of Assembly Recommendation 348 on the application of the Brussels Treaty following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The United Kingdom government authorities announce that they will provide the Council with an annual statement indicating the strength of the UK’s Second Tactical Air Force and any redeployment affecting this strength.
