Note from the British Government to the German Government concerning the European Common Market (18 November 1955)
Text On 18 November 1955, the British Government informs the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) that it will not be able to participate in the Common Market because of its economic and political links with the Commonwealth countries.
