Text On 16 November 1945, John Cecil Sterndale Bennett from the British Foreign Office informs J. B. Sidebotham from the Colonial Office about British policy in the Netherlands East Indies and Indochina. He emphasises that the government does not wish to be involved in the administration or political affairs of non-British territories and that the aim is to withdraw British troops from these regions as soon as possible.
