‘Laika died for Europe’ from Die Zeit (26 December 1957)
Text On 26 December 1957, commenting on the forthcoming entry into force of the Treaties establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC), the German weekly newspaper Die Zeit emphasises the need to establish an economic and political union between the nations of Europe.
