On 11 May 1950, the Austrian daily newspaper Arbeiter-Zeitung welcomes the proposal made by Robert Schuman, French Foreign Minister, to place all French and German production under the supervision of a supranational authority, although he warns against the establishment of this union on the basis of capitalist conglomerations.
