Organisation of the Council of the European Union

Preparations for the work of the Council are carried out by the Permanent Representatives Committee (Coreper) and by the numerous committees and working parties responsible for specific issues.

The Council and its preparatory bodies are assisted in their work by a General Secretariat which provides logistic and linguistic support, legal advice and management of the infrastructure required for their activities.
