The common market for coal and iron ore
Image On 2 May 1956, a locomotive carrying the flags of the six Member States of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) and pulling wagons loaded with coal crosses the Franco-Luxembourg border to mark the opening of the common market for coal and iron ore.
