Address given by Joseph Bech (Luxembourg, 10 December 1952)
Son During his welcome address at the inaugural session of the Court of Justice of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), Joseph Bech, Luxembourg Foreign Minister, refers to a turning point in international judicial history. The ECSC Court of Justice is the first to be able to impose its decisions on States thanks to the supranational powers conferred upon it by the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community.
