‘The Schuman Plan’ from L’Aurore (17 April 1951)
Text On 17 April 1951, on the eve of the signing, in Paris, of the Treaty establishing the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), Paul Bastid, Director of the French daily newspaper L’Aurore, considers the main provisions of the future Treaty and emphasises the ways in which the basic text should be relaxed.
