‘The peoples are calling for Europe’ from Die Welt (22 May 1948)
Text On 22 May 1948, reporting on the work of the Congress of Europe in The Hague, the German daily newspaper Die Welt calls for the general public to be mobilised in support of a united Europe and emphasises the need for Germany’s European commitment.
