Image
The Tshombe-Spaak agreement, signed on 6 February 1965 in Brussels, puts an end to the ongoing dispute between Belgium and Congo over unresolved financial problems between the two countries following Congo’s independence on 30 June 1960. This compromise between Belgium and Congo particularly concerns Congo’s assets and public debt. The photo shows Congolese Prime Minister Moise Tshombe (centre) and Belgian Foreign Minister Paul-Henri Spaak (right).
