Riots in Congo (Brazzaville, August 1963)
Image On 13, 14 and 15 August 1963, an uprising known as the Trois Glorieuses (the Three Glorious Days) overthrew the institutions of the first Republic of Congo and, under pressure from the trade union movement, Abbé Fulbert Youlou was forced to resign.
