Reply by the WEU Council to Assembly Recommendation 252 (London, 24 October 1974)

On 24 October 1974, the Secretariat-General of Western European Union (WEU) circulates the final reply by the Council to Assembly Recommendation 252 on consultation and decisions in the Atlantic Alliance. The Council informs the Assembly that informal arrangements have been introduced for consultation between the Nine and the United States, while assuring the Assembly that close consultations are also being held between the Allies taking part in the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE). Furthermore, the US Administration keeps its European Allies informed, within the North Atlantic Council, of any developments in the strategic arms limitation talks.
