‘Mr Jeanneney calls for complete unification of the European currencies’ from Le Monde (8 June 1971)

On 8 June 1971, the French daily newspaper Le Monde sets out the conclusions of a conference on the international monetary crisis held by the Movement for the Independence of Europe. The article summarises the theories of Jacques Rueff, an expert on monetary questions, Jean-Marcel Jeanneney, former ambassador and minister under General de Gaulle and Georges Pompidou, and Jean Charbonnel, former minister and chairman of the French National Assembly’s Finance Committee, concerning the European currency and the dollar.
