Shortly before the extraordinary meeting of the ECOFIN Council on 9 and 10 May 2010 in Brussels, the Luxembourg Minister for Finance, the Budget and the Treasury, Luc Frieden, answers questions from journalists. He believes that there is no alternative to a strong euro, and that it is therefore imperative for the ECOFIN Council to reach agreement on the measures that should be implemented to preserve financial stability in Europe.
