Letter from Rui Patricio to Oliver Reverdin (Lisbon, 31 March 1970)
Text In this letter dated 31 March 1970 and sent to the President of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Portuguese Foreign Minister declines the invitation extended to his government to attend a meeting to which Mário Soares would be invited. The Minister emphasises the sovereignty of the Portuguese State and denies the lack of respect for human rights reputed to exist in Portugal.
