Interview with Jean Mischo, Luxembourg diplomat from 1970 to 1986 and from 1991 to 1997 and Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Communities from 1986 to 1991 and from 1997 to 2003, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 20 July 2009 at the château de Sanem. The interview was conducted by François Klein, a Research Associate at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the personal and professional development of Jean Mischo, who served as a Member of the Legal Service of the Commission of the European Communities from 1964 to 1969; Chief Administrator in the Cabinets of Victor Bodson and Albert Borschette, Members of the Commission of the European Communities, from 1969 to 1970; diplomat in the Luxembourg Foreign Ministry from 1970 to 1986 and from 1991 to 1997, particularly holding the positions of Director in the Political Affairs Directorate from 1983 to 1986 and from 1991 to 1992 and General Secretary from 1993 to 1997; and Advocate General at the Court of Justice of the European Communities from 1986 to 1991 and from 1997 to 2003.
