Interview with Gabriel Robin, technical adviser at the Secretariat General of the Presidency of the French Republic from 1973 to 1979 (diplomatic adviser to Georges Pompidou and Valéry Giscard d’Estaing), Director of Political Affairs at the French Foreign Ministry from 1979 to 1981 and French Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Council from 1987 to 1992, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 10 and 11 June 2009 at the official residence of the Luxembourg Ambassador to Paris. The interview, conducted by Étienne Deschamps, Researcher at the CVCE, particularly focuses on the following subjects: the European policy of General de Gaulle and Georges Pompidou; France’s European and international policy during the seven-year presidential term of Valéry Giscard d’Estaing; and France’s action in relation to European defence policy and NATO.
