Interview with Bronislaw Geremek (Brussels, 11 June 2008) — Excerpt: the beginnings of European integration seen by a citizen of the Eastern bloc

Video
In this interview, Bronislaw Geremek, Polish historian, former member of the social movement Solidarnosc, former Foreign Minister and former Member of the European Parliament, discusses his lack of interest in the beginnings of European integration because of the political upheavals taking place in Eastern Europe at that time, in particular the rise to power of Wladyslaw Gomulka in Poland in 1956 and the Hungarian uprising and its suppression by Soviet troops in the same year.
