Interview with Adrien Meisch (Sanem, 2 March 2009) — Excerpt: The circumstances surrounding a new diplomatic posting

In this interview excerpt, Adrien Meisch, a member of the Luxembourg Permanent Representation to the United Nations in New York and Luxembourg Consul in New York from 1958 to 1960, discusses the difficulties he encountered in becoming Legation Secretary at the Luxembourg Embassy in Paris and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), then to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), in 1962. He particularly emphasises the role played by Pierre Pescatore, General Secretary at the Luxembourg Foreign Ministry.
