Demonstrations on the fringes of the signing of the Treaty of Amsterdam (Amsterdam, 2 October 1997)
Video On 2 October 1997, on the margins of the ceremony to mark the signing by the Foreign Ministers of the Fifteen of the Treaty of Amsterdam amending the Treaty on European Union, the Treaties establishing the European Communities and certain related acts, European citizens demonstrate in the streets of Amsterdam to deplore the Treaty’s shortcomings in the area of social policy.
