On 19 June 1963, the Commission of the European Economic Community sends a communication to the Council of Ministers on monetary and financial cooperation in the EEC, in which it recommends the strengthening of the powers of the Monetary Committee, the establishment of a Committee of Governors of Central Banks of the European Economic Community and the strengthening of cooperation between the Member States, in particular in the event of changes in parity between their currencies.
