Image On 31 July 1956, the British cartoonist, David Low, illustrates the decision taken by the Egyptian President, Gamal Abdel Nasser, to nationalise the Suez Canal Company (on the left is Dimitri Chepilov, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union).
