‘Before the big debate on foreign policy’ from Le Soir (4 May 1948)
Text On 4 May 1948, the Belgian daily newspaper Le Soir comments on the forthcoming debate in the British House of Commons on the proposal for a Western European Federation put forward by Labour, Conservative and Liberal MPs and underlines the dissensions within the British Labour Party with regard to the Congress of Europe in The Hague.
