The interview was conducted by Étienne Deschamps, a Researcher at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: the European revival and the Rome Treaties, the first elections to the European Parliament by direct universal suffrage, France’s European policy under President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, France’s policy towards the Eastern bloc, and the reform of the European institutions from the European Convention to the Treaty of Lisbon.
