Interview with Robert Goebbels, General Secretary of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) from 1971 to 1985, Minister for the Economy and Minister for Public Works from 1989 to 1999 and a Member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2014, carried out by the Centre Virtuel de la Connaissance sur l’Europe (CVCE) on 24 September 2015 at his home in Luxembourg City. The interview was conducted by François Klein, a Scientific Collaborator at the CVCE, and particularly focuses on the following subjects: his childhood, youth and education, his early political career, his action as State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Cooperation, the Schengen Agreement, his action as Minister for the Economy and Public Works, and the main issues he dealt with as a Member of the European Parliament.
