Text On 1 March 1983, the Commission of the European Communities forwards an interim report to the Council on the enlargement of the Community to include Portugal and Spain. This document aims to analyse, with the two applicant countries, the possibility of their introducing a number of domestic measures before their accession, so as to prepare particularly sensitive sectors of their economies for the post-accession period.
