‘An interview with Todor Zhivkov’ from Le Monde (18 January 1989)
Text On 18 January 1989, in an interview with the French daily newspaper Le Monde, and on the eve of the visit of the French President François Mitterrand to Sofia, Todor Zhivkov, Secretary-General of the Communist Party and Bulgarian Head of State, takes a clear position against the adoption of a multi-party system in his country.
