This short film pays tribute to Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, an official at the Bank of Italy from 1968 to 1979, Director in the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs at the European Commission from 1979 to 1983, Deputy Director General at the Bank of Italy from 1984 to 1997, a member of the first Executive Board of the European Central Bank from 1998 to 2005 and Italian Minister for the Economy and Finance from 2006 to 2008. Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa was born on 23 July 1940 in Belluno and died on 18 December 2010 in Rome.
