On 26 February 1971, in an article in the Luxembourg daily newspaper Tageblatt, Pierre Mendès-France comments on the decisions adopted on 8 February in Brussels by the Council of Ministers of the European Communities on the establishment of an economic and monetary union. The former French Prime Minister particularly emphasises the possible impact of such a union on Europe.
