Letter from Willy Brandt to Georges Pompidou (6 April 1971)
Texte On 6 April 1971, the day after his meeting with the British Prime Minister, Edward Heath, Willy Brandt informs the French President, Georges Pompidou, of the outcome of the discussions. In his letter, the German Chancellor reiterates his determination to open negotiations on the United Kingdom’s accession to the European Communities as quickly as possible.
