Texte On 8 April 1970, in his address to the Portuguese National Assembly, MP Franco Nogueira considers the issue of the Portuguese nation and Europe. He refers, in particular, to the choice facing Portugal between the option of Europe and that of the country’s overseas territories and emphasises the need for the country to accede to the European Community in order to benefit from the advantages that it offers.
