Text Le 29 décembre 1955, le bureau des Relations du Commonwealth diffuse une lettre de Sir Percivale Liesching, haut-commissaire du Royaume-Uni en Afrique du Sud, adressée à Sir John Gilbert Laithwaite, sous-secrétaire d'État permanent aux Relations du Commonwealth, sur les futures relations de la Côte-de-l'Or avec le Commonwealth. Il l'informe d'une discussion qu'il a eue avec le Premier ministre d'Afrique du Sud, Johannes Gerhardus Strijdom, au sujet de la possible adhésion de la Côte-de-l'Or au Commonwealth.
