Statement by Lionel Jospin to the French National Assembly on the establishment of EMU (21 April 1998)
Texte On 21 April 1998, as debates are held in the French National Assembly on the European Commission’s recommendations concerning the transition to the single currency, Lionel Jospin, French Prime Minister, comments on the transition to the third stage of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), due to take place on 1 January 1999, and outlines the conditions imposed by France to ensure the successful adoption of the euro.
