Texte On 26 March 1957, Gustav René Hocke, special correspondent for the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, comments on the proceedings at the ceremony, held the previous day in Rome, to mark the signing of the Treaties establishing the European Economic Community (EEC) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom).
