Note from the Quai d’Orsay on the role and powers of the European Commission in the context of the empty chair crisis (Paris, 9 November 1965)
Texte On 9 November 1965, Émile Cazimajou, Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Economic and Financial Cooperation Directorate (the economic cooperation service) of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, draws up a note in which he considers the means of changing the spirit in which the Commission of the European Economic Community (EEC) exercises its prerogatives, given France’s position in particular at the beginning of the empty chair crisis.
