Image On 31 October 1979, Simone Veil, President of the European Parliament, welcomes the signing of the second Lomé Convention, which, for the next five years, regulates trade relations between the nine Member States of the European Economic Community (EEC) and 57 African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) countries.
