‘Sixty years of Western European Union history’: an article in Le Jeudi

On 23 October 2014, the Modified Brussels Treaty, which established Western European Union (WEU), would have reached its 60th anniversary. To mark this occasion, and in connection with the ‘Diplomacy within WEU' project, Verónica Martins, a Researcher at the CVCE, and Sergio De la Parra, a Scientific Collaborator at the CVCE, have written an article entitled ‘À la recherche d'une défense européenne: Soixante ans d'histoire de l'Union de l'Europe occidentale', which was published in Le Jeudi. WEU was dissolved on 30 June 2011, leaving behind a mixed record, but the organisation made a lasting impression on the European Union's common security and defence policy.
