During the DH Benelux 2016 conference, which took place on 9 and 10 June at the University of Luxembourg, Dr Elena Danescu, a researcher at the CVCE, and Henriette Heimbach, an expert in the German Bundestag, gave a presentation entitled ‘The Werner Committee and the debates on European economic and monetary integration’.

This paper detailed the results of an ongoing pilot project between the EIS Department and the DH Lab — carried out in cooperation with researcher Dr Marten Düring and scientific collaborator Daniele Guido, both from the CVCE — which has used digital tools to perform a humanities-based analysis of a selection of original documents and resources from the Pierre Werner and Europe project.
